How It Works

Accessibility done thoroughly, the same rigorous process for every page, every month.

Every page we monitor goes through the same rigorous, repeatable process: we study it, test it against hundreds of accessibility rules, fix what's wrong directly in your code, and prove the fixes worked. Then we do it again next month, and keep the record that shows you're staying compliant.

The promise

An ongoing habit, not a one-time event

Accessibility works best as an ongoing habit, because your website is always growing and evolving. Every month, we run your pages through the same careful, expert process, the same thorough steps, applied consistently to every page we cover.

The result is a site that stays genuinely accessible, and clear documentation that shows you're keeping it that way.

Our process, step by step

Ten steps, three phases

Before the cycle begins: a complete diagnostic. When you come on board, we start with a full sweep of your site to establish a baseline, so we know exactly where you stand from day one, and we have a clear map of which pages to prioritize across the year. Then the monthly cycle below begins.

1

We understand your page

01

We capture your page exactly as your visitors see it

We load each page in a real browser, let it fully build itself, and save a complete copy, the finished page and everything it uses to display. We work from what a real visitor actually experiences, not from a simplified version of your code.

02

We take a full inventory of the page

We catalog everything on the page: the platform it's built on, the complex pieces where accessibility most often breaks (menus, sliders, pop-ups, forms, carts, video), and any third-party tools. We also review the parts shared across your site, header, footer, navigation, a single time, so each issue is reported once in the place it actually lives.

2

We find and prioritize every issue

03

We manually review your page against 400+ accessibility rules

This is the heart of it: our accessibility specialists review your page by hand, against our own ruleset of more than 406 checks developed and refined over a decade of audits. Each issue comes with what's wrong, who it affects, and exactly how to fix it. This hands-on review is what catches the real-world problems an automated scan alone would miss.

04

We cross-check with Axe-core

We then run Axe-core, an industry-standard accessibility testing tool, over the same page and reconcile it with our manual review. Where they agree, we confirm the issue; where Axe-core adds precise measurements (like color contrast), we refine our findings. Combining the two is what gives us depth across the whole page.

05

We prioritize every issue and confirm scope

We sort each confirmed issue by severity, what blocks people most, and by how involved the fix is, then group them so the highest-impact, root-cause fixes are clear. We also separate what's ours to fix from any content delivered by outside vendors, so the scope is honest and you always know who's responsible for what.

3

We fix it, prove it, and keep you informed

06

We deliver a clear remediation plan, before touching anything

Before we change a single line of code, you receive a written plan that maps every issue to the exact file it lives in, the precise fix, and why it matters. You see the full picture and approve it first.

07

We fix the issues directly in your code

We make the fixes right in your site's code, following accessibility best practices for every component, so the improvements are real, lasting, and part of your site going forward.

08

We deploy it safely

We never edit your live site in place: we back it up, work on a copy, test it in a staging environment, and publish to your live site only after your sign-off.

09

We re-test and document the results

Once live, we test the fixed page again to confirm every issue is resolved, then update your accessibility documentation. A round is only complete when the results are verified, we close on proof, not a promise.

10

We report back and flag anything that needs your attention

Every month we email you the conclusions of that month's manual review, what we looked at, what we found, and what we fixed. If something needs your attention, we raise it specifically. For example, if a third-party app is causing a critical issue, we'll explain exactly what's happening and hand you a clear issue report to forward to that vendor, so it can be fixed at the source.

A ruleset we built over a decade

406 rules, developed and refined by hand

At the heart of our process is a library of 400+ accessibility rules, developed and refined across hundreds of real audits over more than ten years. Every rule carries the issue, the recommended fix, and the real impact on people with disabilities, institutional expertise, applied consistently to your site.

406 rules  ·  ~10 years  ·  Hundreds of audits  ·  Two testing layers, always

Real fixes, right in your code

Built into your site itself

Every fix we make lives in your own code, following established best practices, so improvements are genuine, lasting, and part of your site going forward. If you're currently using a third-party accessibility tool, we're glad to take a look together and help you find the best path to true, lasting accessibility.

Compliance you can prove

Ongoing monitoring

We run this process on a fixed set of your pages every month, keeping your accessibility documentation, including your formal conformance report (ACR/VPAT), current and complete. At any moment you're ready to show a documented, continuous accessibility effort to customers, partners, or anyone who asks.

A personal partnership, not an automated report

A specialist stays close to your site

  • We prioritize the pages that matter most to you, tell us about an upcoming launch, a new template, or a problem area, and we steer the schedule around it.

  • We raise opportunities as we find them, if there's a way to make your site meaningfully better, we'll flag it and offer to help, with no pressure.

  • We pause during your busiest moments, around peak periods like Black Friday, we freeze changes so your live site is never touched at the worst possible time, then resume right after.
